Details
The AL2500 one of the most accurate personal breathalysers available, the AL2500 features high quality, accurate readings at a very affordable price.
The AL-2500 is lightweight, easy to use, and very portable. Its semiconductor-oxide sensor provides an accurate and exact BAC reading at a very wide range - from 0.00 to 0.40 %BAC. No mouthpiece is required - just blow into the sensor and your BAC is displayed in seconds. This model is accurate, easy to use, and affordable. The professional calibration requirement puts it a step above keyring type breathalysers which use BAC simulators and self user calibration.
Simple to operate, with it's own LCD display the AL2500 is great assurrance to have in your glovebox. Don't get caught without one of these handy companions.

AL-2500 Instructions
1. Turning on the power
To turn the unit on, press the power button. The unit will begin a start up process and automatically re-stabilize the alcohol sensor. The LCD display will undergo a countdown sequence, indicating that purge cycles and circuit tests are taking place. This process generally take 30 seconds but can last 2 minutes. The warm up process is complete once two beeps sound, the WAIT sign turns off, and 0.00 is displayed on LCD screen.
2. Blow in the unit
Making sure your mouth is close to the sensor, blow a deep breath for at least 2 seconds.
3. Display - LCD will display exact value, not just a range
Range Audio Function
0.00% - 0.01% 1 beep sound
0.02% - 0.04% 2 beep sound
0.05% - Beep sound for 5 sec.
Note: The LCD screen will display the exact BAC value, not just a range.
4. Retesting
When "WAIT" sign on the LCD is no longer illuminated and display 0.00 on LCD , the unit is reset and ready for retesting.
5. Low battery indicator
The AL 2500 lets you know when the battery is low. sign lights at the low battery and indicates fresh batteries should be installed before retesting.
Cautions( ALKALINE BATTERY ONLY.)
1. Allow at least 15 minutes after consuming alcohol before testing.
2. Enclosed rooms with low ventilation or air conditioning may increase wait time necessary between tests.
3. Spittle or alcohol contamination of the alcohol sensor will delay reset time between tests. In the event of spittle or alcohol contamination, the unit can be shaken to ensure a quick recovery of the sensor.
Calibration
All breathalysers indicate BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) level based on the information stored in the sensor’s memory. Exact values of certain BAC levels are stored so that the sensor can provide the most accurate readings. Over time, however, these stored values tend to lose accuracy as more tests are conducted. The sensor itself and the stored sensor values tend to deteriorate over time and with more tests, affected by external variables. In order to restore the sensor readings to maintain better accuracy, all breathalysers must be recalibrated periodically to refresh sensor values as to allow the breathalyser to obtain better accuracy of readings.
Recalibrating your AlcoScan
All accurate breathalyzers require recalibration periodically depending on time and amount of use as specified by the manufacturers instructions. If you require your unit to be recalibrated, please phone us on 1300 55 95 93 and send your breathalyser to our address. Cost is $30 plus postage. Full re-calibration is done professionally by an exact reference method involving the manual setting of specific, known laboratory BAC samples against the readings recognized by the device. |
